Replace the sequencer tree with an array of sequences to run more the one sequence in parallel. The 'next' module must be modified in a way that an index is needed linked to the sequence in the array and also an output for 'all sequences complete?'.

We are looking at something called linked-sequences. These are sequence elements that are in themselves other sequences. The linked part means they're actually linked to file paths. The linking bit is optional, but it means you could have a master sequence file and several subsequence files that are linked in the master sequence. When you load the master sequencer into PTP Sequencer, the linked sequence files are also loaded from file. If you were to change the content of a linked sequence file, the next time you load the master sequence those changes are loaded dynamically. Consequently, you can create sequences that are groupings of linked-sequences, and you can share these reusable linked-sequence components with multiple master sequences.
What are your thoughts?

I think it’s a great idea, as I understand, the ‘next’ module will start at the beginning of the master then jump to a subsequence and when this is finished it will go back to the master. It is a great idea for the re-use of a sequence and the ability to select a sequence based on the information in the master sequence. What I mean is a little bit different, in my idea we have also a master sequence and subsequences but the master sequence can start a subsequence with or without waiting for it. I have made an example where I control the subsequences with the name of a test vi but this is not the most elegant way to do it.

Sorry poema, but I cannot get the mp4 to play. If you just zip it and attach, instead of spreading across rar files, that might help?

Hi,
The zip file is to big to use as attachment, you can play the mp4 file with a VLC player (it's a free download).

I've tried the mp4 file in numerous players, including VLC. The best I got was a single frame, showing a computer desktop with a fishtank background. The whole video was static though, nothing happening for a full 3:35. I think it's corrupt?

Hey,
I have tried it myself and it still working maybe this ‘http://www.idealshare.net/video-converter/vlc-mp4-solution.html’ will help or if you have an email address I will create an avi and send it with We-transfer.

Poema, I got the video to work. Thanks for taking the time to put this together. I love what you've done to create a parallel sequencing solution.
The concept of running sequences asynchronously in this way isn't something we've considered much, can you provide a little more detail on your intended applications for this?
I sent you a PM a while ago with an email address in it for contacting us. Did you get it?

I have found the email address, but you solved the problem so I will keep it for later. For parallel sequencing I have three situations for the moment. - During the entire test the current consumption must between limits. (to check one of the specifications) - To test an air-conditioner I have two parallel running sequences, an automatic and a manual sequence. During the manual sequence the operator has to check several visual check points. For each point he has to confirm this to be sure it is checked. If I have only one sequence the automatic part of the test will be interrupted by the manual actions and the testing time will increase a lot. - To check the efficiency of a fan on the temperature of a coil, the fan speed is changing continuously while the temperature of the coil is checked and calculated in function the speed.

Sorry for the lack of reply poema, I've been off-radar for a bit. The use of remote triggering for multiple sequences nicely allows for parallel operation. We are considering asynchronous operation of sequences, but that's not something yet built into PTP Sequencer.
We might be interested in hearing more about your solution, could you contact us on the email address I sent (and link to this thread in the email) as we might wish to talk further about potential publications, if you're interested.
Thanks!
